JHMS teaches historical European martial arts in Jyväskylä. The arts are reconstructed according to available period sources – usually manuscripts or printed books (fechtbuchs). Our main focus is in the late middle-ages fighting arts of Italy, armizare. These arts include e.g. the use of longsword, dagger, spear and pollax
In addition we run classes on instinct archery.
